Just 0.001s separated the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing teammates after the opening Free Practice session for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Circuito de Navarra this morning as Ryan Vickers held the smallest of margins over Kyle Ryde.

Reigning champion Tommy Bridewell was just 0.189s adrift of the fastest time as the Honda Racing UK rider edged out Leon Haslam on the ROKiT Haslam Racing BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR who completed the top five.

Glenn Irwin posted the sixth fastest time for the Hager PBM Ducati Team after a crash at the final corner, he was able to return to pitlane and complete the final seven minutes of the session, remaining ahead of Jason O'Halloran on the leading Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki.

Christian Iddon was eighth fastest, he had moved up into the top three but his fastest lap time was cancelled due to a fast sector in a yellow flag zone. TAG Honda Racing UK’s Fraser Rogers and Peter Hickman completed the top ten.
