Major technical upgrade completed at Circuito de Navarra

Circuito de Navarra has achieved its latest milestone in the redevelopment of the facility by completing a major technology upgrade. Work ended last week on a range of projects designed to enhance the venue’s communication and safety systems. These refinements, alongside recent improvements to the circuit itself, ensure that the venue is in better shape than ever before.

Headline changes include the installation of EM light panels as a key improvement to marshalling and safety systems. No fewer than 21 new EM T2 light panels have been successfully installed, with all of them operational ahead of the circuit’s first race event of 2024 – the Bennetts British Superbike Championship on 20/21 April.

The circuit-wide placement of light panels has been carried out in parallel with updates to the start/finish gantry. New start lights have been fitted alongside an EM information panel to strengthen communication between Race Control and the circuit itself.

Another significant project which has now been completed is an upgrade of the venue’s CCTV camera systems. All cameras around the venue are now able to produce higher quality imagery, ensuring that those working in Race Control will benefit from improved coverage of the circuit.

Additionally, a refit of the site’s internal network systems has taken place, including the laying of new fibre cables to provide a high-quality link between key parts of the venue and the main communications hub. Trackside network hardware has been upgraded too, providing more reliable connections to support light and camera operation.
