ESBK Spanish Superbikes arrive in Circuito de Navarra this weekend

04 May 2026

The ESBK Spanish Superbike Championship makes the first of its two 2026 trips to Circuito de Navarra in northern Spain next weekend (9/10 May).

The weekend will feature a full programme of races under the Real Federacion Motociclista Espanola (RFME) banner, but it’s the two races from the premier Superbike class which will headline the programme.

This year’s grid includes a number of regular frontrunners from the modern era of ESBK Superbike competition, including reigning champion Steven Odendaal. The South African is yet to win this year, but he’s finished in the top-three in both of the races so far this year. As a previous winner at Circuito de Navarra, he’ll be one of the main contenders to watch.

At the top of the standings heading into the event will be former champion Ivo Lopes, who returns with BMW Easyrace Team. The accomplished Portuguese rider has an excellent record at the venue, and with a win and second place to his name already this year, he’s undoubtedly one of the favourites for victory.

Just behind Lopes in the points order is Francisco Javier Palomera, who rides for Team Honda Laglisse. The Spanish rider won the opening race of the season outright and will be hoping to keep the pressure on during the next round.

Others in action include Roman Ramos Alvaro and Mauro Gonzalez Rojas, at a vital early stage of the season, as the championship battles start to form.

The race categories will include SBKSupersport, Supersport 300, Pre-Moto4, Superstock 1000, Superstock 600, ESBK Moto4 and the new Sportbike category. In total, the event is expected to feature 180 competitors from at least 12 different countries.

Following the end of racing on Saturday, there will be a chance for visitors to take their bikes on track as part of an honour lap. Plus, on Sunday, there will be a pit walk, so fans can take a closer look at where the action happens and enjoy the atmosphere.

Tickets are priced from 8€ and can be purchased in advance through our official website: click here to book now.
