Circuito de Navarra hosts V de V retro endurance action next weekend

16 May 2024

V de V Sports’ 2024 Challenge Endurance VHC calendar launches at Circuito de Navarra on 25/26 May. The 6 Hours of Navarra will run on Sunday for historic competition cars, following free practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday.

This major historic motorsport fixture will be the first four-wheeled race meeting at the venue in northern Spain since the first phase of a multi-million Euro redevelopment programme was completed earlier this year. The alterations to the circuit and track surface received great acclaim when the Bennetts British Superbike Championship visited the venue last month, but V de V’s event will be the first competitive fixture for cars.

No fewer than 20 cars are anticipated to feature on the V de V grid, including retro touring cars, GTs and sports-prototypes. This will include reigning champions Paul and Matthieu Chateaux, who return to defend the title at the wheel of a stunning Chevron B16. Other entries to look out for will include series founder Eric Van de Vyver, at the wheel of a TVR Griffith 200 which he will share with Guillaume Maillard and Patrick Brossard.

The field will also feature examples of other stunning models from motorsport’s golden past, including a Shelby Cobra Daytona and Porsche 911s. There are also cars from lesser known manufacturers like Elva, plus a crop of Porsche 944s, including one managed by former French Touring Car Champion Alain Cudini.

Admission to the circuit is free for this weekend – click here for more information.
