6 Hours of Navarra: Atlantic Racing claims victory

Atlantic Racing’s Chevron B16 won the first car race of the year at Circuito de Navarra last weekend, defeating the opposition in the V de V Sports 6 Hours of Navarra.

Romain Belletest and Christophe Gadais claimed pole position from the similar Chevron of fellow French competitors Matthieu Chateaux and Pascal Gerbout, and duly drove home to victory after 172 laps. Despite the racing lasting six hours at the circuit in northern Spain, there were just 20 seconds between the two leading cars by the time the chequered flag fell.

Behind that, it was Team Bersi’s Porsche 911, the best of the non-prototype race cars, which completed the outright podium in third position. Another Porsche, the 964 of Mickael Desmaele and Gregory Lecaude, was fourth, just ahead of Olivier Muytens and Brice Pineau, who completed the top-five in their shared Shelby Cobra Daytona.
